Suction and Cleaning Performance

Most robot vacuums come with maximum suction ratings ranging between 2000Pa and 3000Pa but this is nothing when compared to the 7000Pa you’ll be able to get from the Bissell ICONpet. To put it in perspective, this suction rating is higher than what you’d get in some stick vacuums.

As a result, this robot vacuum performs spectacularly when compared to most of its peers especially when dealing with strongly embedded stains. Bissell claims to have built this vacuum using the same technology used in their upright vacuums.

It also comes with a large tangle-free bristle brush roll that comes in handy when dealing with long pet hair. It has been tested to perform exceptionally with hair as long as 8 inches hence it will be a breath of fresh hair for owners of long-haired pets.

This robot lacks spinning edge brushes so any area that can’t be reached by the main brush will not be vacuumed. The good news is that the main brush coupled with the D-shape does such a great job that there will be very few of these areas.

Navigation

The first thing you’ll see is the fact that this robot vacuum comes with a D-shape with the brush along the edge. This shape enables the robot to clean a larger area along edges and in corners where round robot vacuums would not be able to reach.

This robot comes with Bissell’s Digital Vision navigation system that uses four sensors to find its way around any obstacles that might be on its way. It also comes with cliff sensors that will prevent the vacuum from falling off the stairs.

It is unique from most other robot vacuums in that it comes with a digital LED text display that tells you what the vacuum is doing at any time. In addition to the LED screen, this vacuum also comes with a four-button control panel on the top face of the vacuum if you want to keep things simple.

If you prefer more control, you have the option of downloading the Bissell Connect Smartphone app that allows you to give commands to your robot vacuum remotely from your smartphone. This app also gives you access to support videos and handy alerts that let you know what’s happening at home.

Battery Performance

This robot vacuum comes with a rechargeable battery with a runtime of up to 9o minutes. This battery needs 4 hours to fully charge from an empty battery. It doesn’t come with fancy features like the ability to recharge and resume a cleaning run, but the 90-minute runtime makes it easy to overlook if you don’t have large rooms.

Filtration

Being a robot vacuum designed for pet homes, filtration is another important area that we can’t afford to overlook.

The Bissell ICONpet comes with multi-level filtration and a foam filter that you can remove and wash several times before you have to replace it. The cyclonic cleaning system does an incredible job particularly in homes with pets because it keeps the debris together and away from the filter.

The large 0.5-liter dirt collection bin is great because it has more than enough space for dirt hence you won’t have to empty every few minutes. Emptying it is easy without getting your hands dirty. Unfortunately, this robot doesn’t come with a HEPA filter so if you or someone in your home suffers from allergies, you might have some problems when it is operating.

Conclusion

The Bissell ICONpet Robot Vacuum is a great choice if you are looking for a simple device that comes with strong suction strength and decent cleaning abilities especially for homes with pets. It lacks HEPA filtration and high-end features like recharge and resume, but for its price, it offers a good return on investment because of the high suction strength and impeccable cleaning performance.

Roborock S6 Pure

The Roborock S6 Pure does a great job of making the S6 difficult to recommend. When we first reviewed the S6 last year, it was an Ambient top pick. However, the fact that the S6 Pure has come along, offering pretty much the same setup - for $100 less - means the Pure is now our favorite Roborock. Roborock Pure Robot Vacuum Review
