Suction and Mopping
Let’s start by looking at this vacuum’s ability to remove dirt and debris from your floors. Being a 2-in-1 robot vacuum, we’ll look at both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities to see just how well it will clean your floors.
When it comes to vacuuming, this robot vacuum boasts of an impressive 2700 Pa suction that will see to it that you don’t have problems vacuuming most of the common household debris. Working hand in hand with this suction is the floating roller brush that will dislodge any stubborn stains that can’t be picked up by the vacuum alone.
Mopping is also quite effective with the Y-Shaped mopping pattern that increases the number of passes that the robot goes over your floors. However, the 300ml water tank seems to be quite small considering the amount of water that is needed for the Y-shaped mopping. You might have to refill it when mopping large floor areas.
The Proscenic U6 comes with a laser navigation system that scans your home to create accurate maps for each level. These maps tell it the overall shape of your home and exactly where each obstacle is on the floor for efficient cleaning.
You can save multiple maps so you won’t have to make a new map every time you switch to a new floor. These maps can also be used to set no-go zones that tell the vacuum where it should go and where it should avoid in its cleaning runs.
All this can be configured using Proscenic’s smartphone app that comes in handy if you need more control options. It works remotely so you don’t have to be physically close to the robot. It will accept your input even when you are not at home.
The battery on this robot vacuum is pretty amazing because it is a 5200 mAh Lithium battery that can power the robot for up to 200 minutes. This runtime varies depending on the cleaning mode and the power settings, but this is still quite impressive for a vacuum in its price range.
If the battery happens to run out of juice while it is still cleaning, it will automatically find its way to the charging dock for a recharge before resuming from where it had stopped. Water seepage to the mopping pad is controlled electrically hence you have no reason to worry about leakage when charging or when mopping is interrupted.
The Proscenic U6 2-in-1 Robotic Vacuum Robot Vacuum is pretty impressive given that it comes with many of the latest features you’d expect to find in high-end models like laser navigation, recharge, and resume, and long battery life. However, there are several setbacks worth noting.
The first one is the smaller water tank mentioned above that can be quite a bother when mopping larger areas, but this is quite bearable given the better results achieved from the Y-shaped mopping pattern.
Another problem is the lack of a way to automatically stop mopping when it goes over a carpet so you’ll have to manually prevent the vacuum from going over the carpets when mopping. You can use physical barriers or you can draw virtual boundaries on the map.
That aside, the Proscenic U6 is an impressive little robot that brings you high-end features without having to dig too deep into your pocket.
